• Lesser Yellow-naped Woodpecker
• Sri Lanka Blue Magpie
• Sri Lanka Yellow-fronted Barbet
• Sri Lanka Red Faced Malkoha
• Sri Lanka Wood Pigeon
• Sri Lanka Spotwinged Thrush



Following species of toads can be seen:

• Stone Sucker
• Kelaart’s Dwarf Toad
• Golden Frog
• Bronzed Frog
• Elegant Shrub Frog
• Morning Side Tree Frog

• Bird flock movements can be watched

• A stream and a small water fall will be passed

• The forest canopy rising up to about 35m, consists of plants like Shorea megistophylla, shorea distichta. Monkeys, squirrels, bats, tree frogs, ants, beetles and birds such as fly catchers can be found in this layer.

• The sub-canopy, under story, shrub layer and ground layer with its unique collaboration of rare plants can also be experienced. Ground layer consists of many herbal plants endemic to Sinharaja.

• Sometimes a Sambar can be spotted and purple-faced leaf monkies. Many varieties of beautiful butterflies will be passed-Giant Squirrel, Sri Lanka Toque Monkey are also some of the endangered species that can be spotted on this trail.

• Walks with a special interest which focuses on a particular aspect of the cultural or natural environmental.
Eg. Bird Watching, cultural heritage, ethnobotanical, butterflies,

• Night walks to experience the adventures of different scenery and sounds in the darkness

• Nature observations and relaxation points along the streams

• A visit to the tea patch and visit a nearby tea factory
